Thrive Therapy Expands Counseling Services to St. Paul
We’re thrilled to announce our beautiful new Thrive Therapy location in the heart of vibrant St. Paul, MN! Situated in a charming two-story craftsman home built in 1901, our new office at Grand Avenue captures the perfect blend of historic beauty and modern comfort. Nestled just steps from beloved local spots like Cooks, Cafe Latte, and the newly viral Thirty-Six Cafe (literally across the street!), this inviting space provides a warm, home-like atmosphere that instantly feels comforting and welcoming.
Thrive Therapy has served the St. Paul community since October of 2023 from a modest office on University Ave. Our previous location never felt like it would be our permanent home and as we projected a transition upon our lease renewal, we began to look at other locations. We fully established roots in the city by acquiring our cozy Grand Avenue office building this February 2025. While moving in Minnesota’s coldest month isn’t for everyone, this anticipated transition has been welcomed by staff and clients alike.
If you haven’t been following along with the transformation on our Facebook Page, we’ve been working diligently to simultaneously brighten the space while making it feel warm and inviting. Here’s a peek:
Meet Our St. Paul Therapists:
As we expand our mental health clinic services to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, our mental health clinic features five therapists with diverse backgrounds and specialties to choose from.
Matt Sutera, LPCC, expanded his therapy schedule and now has immediate counseling availability—including evenings—in our welcoming St. Paul office. Matt offers specialized support for individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, PTSD, identity/self-esteem, LGBTQIA concerns, relationship struggles, sexual concerns, grief, men’s mental health, and adolescent counseling. He utilizes a person-centered therapeutic approach combined with cognitive-behavioral, acceptance and commitment, and narrative elements. Matt’s warm, inviting personality creates an approachable atmosphere, making him an easy-to-talk-to counselor for clients seeking therapy in St. Paul.
In addition to his schedule in Burnsville, Sam Secord, LAMFT, LADC, provides couples counseling and individual therapy every Wednesday in St. Paul, Minnesota. Sam specializes in counseling for ADHD, anxiety, PTSD, and substance use issues, and warmly welcomes anyone looking for a therapist to support meaningful change and life adaptation. Sam has extensive clinical experience working with adolescents, adults, couples, and leading substance-use recovery groups. He enjoys providing therapy to diverse ages, genders, and backgrounds, approaching counseling sessions with kindness, directness, and a touch of humor, making him a relatable choice for clients searching for counseling services in Burnsville or St. Paul.
Jerry Jorgenson, LGSW, offers in-person mental health counseling on Tuesdays in St. Paul and sees clients in Burnsville or via telehealth appointments the rest of the week. Jerry specifically focuses on men’s mental health counseling, supporting clients dealing with depression, anxiety, and health-related concerns. His therapeutic style is approachable and adaptable, emphasizing the importance of a trusting counselor-client relationship as the cornerstone of effective therapy. Jerry’s approach enables him to provide therapy to a diverse client base, from those seeking support for anxiety and depression to addressing existential concerns or redefining masculinity.
Lindsey Bender, MHP, currently provides in-person and telehealth therapy sessions, including evening appointments at both our Burnsville and St. Paul counseling offices. Lindsey delivers supportive, empowering therapy tailored to young adults (ages 16+) and individuals navigating anxiety, depression, life changes, and low self-worth. Lindsey holds a heartfelt passion for working with multiracial clients, drawing from her own experience growing up bi-racial in a predominantly white community. Her therapeutic approach is gentle and rooted in mutual respect, validation, and empowerment, helping her counseling clients reconnect with their inherent strengths in a safe, validating environment.
Natasha Burma, MHP, recently added two days to her counseling schedule in St. Paul, alongside her existing in-person and virtual counseling availability at our Burnsville office. Natasha uses a Solution-Focused Therapy approach, emphasizing client strengths and resilience. With valuable experience in substance abuse recovery counseling and trauma-informed care, Natasha provides therapy to individuals and couples facing life transitions, relationship struggles, anxiety, depression, and identity exploration. As a Third Culture Kid herself, she uniquely understands the complexities that families experience during cultural transitions. Natasha welcomes counseling clients from all racial, economic, sexual, religious, and mental health backgrounds with a respectful and kindhearted therapeutic style.

Here is a brief overview of the therapists we have available there:
